Web Instant Notification System (WINS)

Instant Notification by Means of a Web Interface

FATPOT INSTANT NOTIFICATION

FATPOT Web Instant Notification System™enables public safety agencies to distribute critical alerts and other information to designated parties such as schools, businesses, other government agencies, and the media

FATPOT Web Instant Notification System™ (WINS) is a web-based notification system that is connected to Peer Intelligence™ to provide current. The system distributes relevant, up-to-the-minute information regarding critical incidents to authorized target users or group of users. Users merely need an internet connection, a browser, and WINS™ to access critical information and interact with each other through integrated communications threads. WINS users can also utilize features, including, 1) accessing dynamic map information with geo-coded incident locations, 2) requesting event notifications via e-mail, cell phone, or paging devices, and 3) attaching images and documents to notifications.

WINS™ allows critical public safety information to securely reach key government or public partners — expanding the "circle of knowledge" and improving overall situational awareness. Communities win when key stake holders can be kept informed and become appropriately involved in decision making processes.

Automated alert system
When important incidents occur, WINS alerts the designated parties and continues to update them with secure, real-time information. WINS works seamlessly with your organization's existing computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and records management (RMS) systems via Peer Intelligence®. Your agency sets the rules that determine who is alerted and tailors information to users' roles.
Communication system
The WINS Web-based communication system provides incident details, updates and other information to authorized users. Users can look up detailed aerial maps, summarized dispatch information, and correspondence that has been exchanged by other WINS users. Users can also message each other and exchange video, image, text, audio and other files. These features allow incident managers to keep track of unfolding incidents and communicate with first responders or other parties.

WINS™ in action

Consider the following scenario: a hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incident occurs near an elementary school and FATPOT WINS immediately warns school administrators via pager, cell phone or e-mail. Using the WINS notification software, the school administrators quickly respond to the alert – 1) they look up incident details, 2) view the detailed map, 3) review existing communication between other involved parties, 4) chat with other parties, and then 5) take the appropriate steps to safeguard their students and facilities based on the real-time situational awareness obtained.

An agency can also customized WINS™ so that media outlets, hospitals, industrial plants, transportation companies and other “need to know” organizations are automatically notified with appropriate information when relevant events occur.
